Led by People Management, the Corporate Education project institutionalizes a culture of learning, exchange of experiences and development of competences among its professionals, with classes in the afternoon, in different areas of knowledge.
The Benefits Management department works on behalf of employees and their families, provides free medical and dental care, agreements with laboratories, opticians and pharmacies and support for the Santa Casa Saúde Plan. of the most diverse problems.
The Successful Partnership program aims to recognize equipment supplier companies, exalting the affinity between the parties and strengthening personal ties in the business environment. Since 2011, it has covered Dedini, Fermentec, Stab, Comercial Marcelo Costa, TGM, Rio Grande, Siner, Fazanaro, Renk Zanini, Chapini, Prolink, CPFL Energia, TESE, Revolts, WEG, KSB and Siemens.
The company has a solid investment in the training of readers, through various investments. The company sponsors the São Joaquim da Barra Book Fair (2016 and 2017) and collaborates with the 17th Ribeirão Preto Book Fair. There were 15 libraries donated, with furniture, a complete collection and adapted to each benefited public. The company's employees and 14 institutions in São Joaquim da Barra and region were benefited.

The company confirms its interest in preserving the region's natural resources and its concern for the environment. Environmental respect is rooted in the corporate culture, so that it is possible to produce the greatest benefit, combined with maintaining the necessary balance for future generations.

Through its Environmental Adaptation Program, it enables the restoration of several areas of permanent preservation, prioritizing the conservation of regional springs, valuing them as the precious resources that they are. ESALQ-USP and began in October 2002. It has a nursery with the capacity to produce 10,000 seedlings and has the objective of conserving and reforesting watershed areas.

Soil is one of the most important natural elements for life. To preserve it, the company adopts conservationist principles, such as: direct planting; level curves; elimination of furrows and depressions in the ground; soil acidity and fertility correction; and unpacking and terracing.

The use of no-tillage in place of conventional methods is beneficial to the environment. In this system, adopted in 95% of the company's planting area, straw and other plant remains from other crops are kept on the soil surface, ensuring coverage, greater water retention, incorporation of nitrogen, protection against erosion, against compaction and less loss of nutrients. The technique also has the advantage of reducing the plowing and harrowing processes, which causes a decrease in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Crop rotation consists of alternating plant species in the same agricultural area. Well planned, the system improves the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the soil; assists in the control of weeds, diseases and pests; replaces organic matter and protects the soil from the action of climatic agents.

Biological pest control seeks to harmoniously integrate the fight, aiming at economic, social and environmental improvements by reducing the use of chemical agricultural defensives. The company applies integrated pest management, using the wasp Cotesia flavipes to control the sugarcane borer and a bioinsecticide with the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae to combat the sugarcane leafhopper.

In order to use water sparingly, the company installed a Sanitary Sewage Treatment Station (ETE) and waste from effluent treatment is destined for fertirrigation in crops.
With the same objective, the VLC system was installed, whose function is to remove, in an orderly manner, the soot from the boilers, together with the earth brought in with the sugarcane. Its use allows the residue obtained to be used in the field with a humidity of approximately 55%; in addition, it guarantees the reuse of water with a smaller amount of solids, contributing to its quality and cleanliness.
Filter cake and vinasse, generated as by-products of the industrial process, are also used in the field as fertilizers, for the rational use of water and proper disposal of waste.

In 2020, the company was accredited in the RenovaBio program, which is the National Biofuel Policy. This program sets annual targets for the decarbonization of the Brazilian fuel sector, with the aim of encouraging increased production of biofuels, as well as recognizing its strategic role for the market and energy security on the national scene.

Bagasse is a fibrous residue resulting from the extraction of sugarcane juice after milling. It is used as fuel for generating power and heat in the boiler. The cogeneration project aims at the company's production of its own thermoelectric energy from the biomass produced in sugarcane crushing. The rationality of this production allows the surplus of co-generated energy to supply the regional market, through CPFL.
